Renovatio Solar Completes 400 kWp Photovoltaic Project for Logistics and Transport Provider KLG Europe Logistics RomaniaRenovatio Solar Completes 400 kWp Photovoltaic Project for Logistics and Transport Provider KLG Europe Logistics Romania

Bucharest, September 6, 2023 – Renovatio Solar, a leading entity within the Renovatio ecosystem and a prominent player in Romania’s solar energy and green technology sectors, has recently completed a 400 kWp photovoltaic installation for KLG Europe Logistics Romania, a top provider in the local logistics and transport services market.

“The project entailed the installation of 888 photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 400 kWp, which are expected to generate approximately 500 MWh of electricity annually. These panels were installed on KLG’s warehouse in Bolintin Deal, Giurgiu County, which also houses the company’s headquarters,” said Horațiu Regneală, CEO of Renovatio Solar.

“Over the past period, we have invested more than 1 million euros in digitalization and sustainability initiatives, recognizing the clear advantages these bring: greater operational autonomy and significant cost reductions. The investment in photovoltaic panels now supplies around 40% of our annual energy needs, equivalent to planting 1,600 trees,” explained Răzvan Marinescu, Managing Director of KLG Europe Logistics Romania.

The investment totaled several hundred thousand euros, and the newly installed system is expected to have a lifespan of 25-30 years. KLG Europe Romania is a leader in the local logistics and transport services market, offering road, sea, and air transport, warehousing, value-added services, e-fulfillment, and large-volume product courier services.

Following a comprehensive technical and economic assessment facilitated by Renovatio Solar, KLG determined that an on-grid system was the most efficient solution to meet its energy needs, providing power for internal consumption while channeling any excess electricity back into the grid.

“This system enables clients to significantly reduce electricity costs while also contributing to environmental sustainability by utilizing clean, renewable energy. This approach ensures a higher level of energy independence,” added Horațiu Regneală.

Renovatio Solar delivered end-to-end EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) services to KLG Europe Logistics Romania, from initial design and consultation through to development, installation, and final commissioning.

Through this project, Renovatio Solar supports KLG’s strategic commitment to renewable energy and environmental protection. Beyond the financial benefits, the adoption of renewable energy is crucial for environmental sustainability. Specifically, generating electricity from renewable sources reduces greenhouse gas emissions and aids in mitigating global warming. The green energy produced by the photovoltaic system will reduce KLG’s carbon footprint by approximately 147 tons of CO2 annually, and over the next 25 years, the system is expected to offset around 3,675 tons of CO2. Moreover, the use of photovoltaic energy contributes to the conservation of finite natural resources.

Renovatio is a pioneering force in Romania’s renewable energy sector, with over 18 years of experience in developing major renewable energy projects. With expertise in EPC development, commercial energy generation, trading, supply, and asset management in renewable energy, Renovatio has established itself as a reliable and trusted player in the energy market, both domestically and internationally.

KLG Europe Logistics Romania is part of the KLG Europe group, which joined the Sinotrans group in late 2019. KLG Europe Logistics Romania currently operates nine strategically positioned hubs across Romania’s major cities (Bucharest, Cluj-Napoca, Timișoara, Brașov, Sibiu, Craiova, Constanța, Brăila, and Bacău).
